The Hiking routes pass through communities neighboring Stanton Middle School. Kent’s nickname is The Tree City! Hiking options include a stadium track or 1-3 mile routes.

Participants select a route to ride or walk at their own pace. Just plan to finish between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. The event site will close at 2 p.m.

At the completion of their journey, and starting at 10:30am, participants can enjoy complimentary lunch (pizza, grilled burgers, veggie burgers, brats, hot dogs, and more!), music by members of Celtic Rush, massages by Sam Brandon, and door prizes.

A raffle will be held to win a “Raleigh Cadent” bicycle donated by Kent Cycle. Raffle tickets can be purchased when riders pre-register, from a volunteer, or on the day of the event. Bike raffle and door prize drawings start at 10:15. Bike winner need not be present.

If you need something else to do after our event you can visit Kent’s newly developed downtown area which in fact will be hosting the 12th annual Main Street Kent Art & Wine Festival from 12 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Pedal with Pete is also searching for event volunteers and donations of door prizes, food, drinks, and/or promotional items. If you are interested, please let us know and we will contact you!

The foundation is all volunteer-based, with approximately 85% of the funds that are raised going directly to fund cerebral palsy research. Cerebral palsy is caused by abnormalities in parts of the brain that control muscle movements, therefore the research can lead to life-improving treatments. Because Pedal with Pete is a 501(c)3 organization, all donations are fully tax-deductible. Pedal with Pete was founded by longtime Kent resident Peter Zeidner, who has cerebral palsy, because of the lack of research on the condition. Since its inception in 1993, the foundation has raised more than $1,000,000 for CP research.

If you want to help Pete with his mission to fund CP research and improve lives of people who live with CP,

  • Mail your donation to Pedal with Pete, P.O. Box 274, Kent, Ohio 44240 or add a donation when you register for this event.
  • Register here for the Kent ride or hike.
  • Contact ride co-chair Jim Stroble at to volunteer or donate door prizes, food, drinks, and/or promotional items.

Pedal with Pete thanks you!
